What data is collected

Waitlist

Your email address, stored for the duration of the closed beta and deleted after unless you opt in to future updates.

App usage

The app collects metadata generated from your gameplay sessions, including review statistics, feature usage, error logs, and publicly available AoE2 community API data (such as ELO and match history). This data is used to improve app quality and enable features like comparing your metrics against players in your ELO bracket.

Screenshots

Screenshots are never uploaded. The app does save some screenshots to your own device: unless disabled and as per settings caps, frames from the Dark and Feudal Ages so you can review, and more if you enable debug logging. They are written to a folder on your machine that you can open or delete at any time.

Device and performance

The app collects your machine's hardware and display class (CPU, GPU, memory, screen resolution, operating system version) along with app performance timings. This is used to diagnose performance problems and to understand which hardware the app runs well on. It describes the class of machine, not your identity — no serial numbers, hardware IDs, network identifiers, or device names are collected.

Turning it off

You can turn off data collection in Settings. With it off, the app records only an anonymous installation ID and basic session timing so that active users can be counted — no gameplay, performance, or device data is sent. That ID is never linked to your AoE2 profile.

Everything the app does send is also written to a readable file on your own machine, which you can open from within the app at any time.

How data is used

Your data is used to operate and improve the AoE2 Coach. It is never sold to third parties.

Your rights

You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting hello@aoe2coach.app. This includes removal from the waitlist and deletion of any app usage data.

This policy may be updated from time to time. The latest version is always available at this page. Continued use of the app or waitlist constitutes acceptance of the current policy.
